Catholic Commission for Social Justice
The Catholic Commission for Social Justice was established following the Archdiocesan Synod of 2003. "If you want peace, work for justice". [Pope Paul VI]

Mission
The CCSJ mission is to be "a fearless and unified voice to eradicate social injustice in Trinidad & Tobago and in the world, a voice infused with Gospel values that will awaken the social conscience of all citizens and create an empowered population so that all can be active participants in bringing about the Kingdom of God here on earth."
Sr. Roberta O'Flaherty is a member of the Management Team of CCSJ and also chairs the Committee for Education and Social Justice.

Sr. Mary Anthony is one of the members of the Trinidad & Tobago Re-integration Foundation. Two key initiatives are the "Walk Tall" rehabilitation project being implemented in collaboration with the Prison Service and also the proposed establishment of a half-way house for ex-prisoners.
 
 
"Ask Why?" TV programme
Ask Why? TV team
  CCSJ, in conjunction with Trinity TV [Living Waters Community] produces an hour long monthly Social Justice TV programme called "Ask Why?". Each month a different social justice topic is covered and guest speakers are interviewed.
Sr. Theresa Vialva is the moderator of this programme. The photograph shows Sr. Theresa (centre) with members of the Trinity TV production team prior to the live broadcast. Sr. Roberta O'Flaherty is also part of the CCSJ team which plans the topics and the interview questions for each programme.
